How To Have A Great Engagement Session
Is this your first time as a couple in front of a camera? Relax, I've got you covered. It's a first for many of my engaged couples and we end up having a great time. You bring the love and leave the posing to me!
Choose a location that fits your personality as a couple How do you spend the most of your time as a couple? Is it outdoors in nature? Strolling downtown checking out the latest coffee shop or restaurant for brunch? Did you meet at a college around Atlanta? We want to choose a location that fits your personality as a couple.
Hire the same photographer for your engagement AND wedding It's important that your comfortable with your photographer on your wedding day. Engagement sessions is a great time to get to know each other.
Act natural, loosen up, and feel the love! I know this can seem like a lot to ask if it's the first time infront of a camera with your partner. If you are feeling the love, then so can the camera and it will show in the photos. Hug, kiss, hold hands.. Remember, your engaged!

"DO" COORDINATE COLORS ON YOUR OUTFITS
Whether it's plaid or shades of blue, make sure to coordinate clothing with your significant other. It helps to create cohesion within your photos.
"DONT" WEAR DARKER COLORS SUCH AS BLACK
If your worried about finding clothing that's flattering or you have an absurd about of black clothing, hold off on grabbing it! Darker colors tend to fall flat in colored photographs. Vibrant colors or patterns work the best.
"DO" GET YOUR RING PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED
We will take some close ups of your new engagement ring. Getting your ring professional cleaned ahead of time ensures its full of sparkle.
"DONT" WEAR YOUR FAVORITE OUTFIT FIRST
I know it can seem natural to wear your favorite outfit first, but you should actually wear your least favorite outfit. Typically the first couple photos and poses tend to feel a little awkward until you get the hang of it.
"DO" ENSURE ENOUGH TIME TO PRINT SAVE THE DATES
It will take about two-three weeks to get your photos back. Ensure you're scheduling your photo session with enough time to receive your photos and have your save the dates printed and shipped to you.
"DONT" ARGUE WITH YOUR FIANCE BEFORE THE SHOOT
Pick your battles. Most men aren't exactly excited about a photo session and they may even express it. Whatever the issue is, let it go. You want a relaxing session with pure happiness.
"DO" TIME YOUR SESSION DURING THE GOLDEN HOUR
About two to three hours before sunset is the best time to schedule a photo session outdoors. The sunlight at this time is very flattering and dramatic.
"DONT" FORGET TO HAVE FUN WITH IT!
